Jammu, Sept. 1 -- The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched an initiative to install signboards in the Dogri language at major intersections, chowks and other prominent locations across Jammu city in an effort to promote the region's linguistic and cultural heritage.
Officials said the project has been taken up following a request from the Siyana Nagrik Muddad Seva Sanstha, which has also provided a number of Dogri signboards for installation at suitable locations.
The civic body said the initiative is intended to increase the visibility of Dogri in public spaces and encourage greater awareness of the language among residents, particularly younger generations.
