Srinagar, May 24 -- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana on Saturday chaired a meeting to review implementation of the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister reviewed the status of claims filed under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), functioning of committees constituted under the Act and measures being taken for safeguarding the rights of tribal communities.
