Srinagar, June 30 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Housing and Urban Development Department on Monday issued guidelines for the management of stray dogs, stating that relocation of community dogs by individuals or resident groups is prohibited and that feeding should be carried out only at designated locations.
In a statement, the department said the guidelines have been issued in compliance with the Supreme Court's directions in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 5 of 2025 relating to the welfare, protection and management of stray animals.
