India Post marks National Postal Week, highlights financial inclusion and export services
Srinagar, Oct. 10 -- India Post on Friday began National Postal Week celebrations, highlighting its financial inclusion initiatives, digital services, last-mile connectivity and export facilities for small businesses across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
National Postal Week is being observed from October 9 to 15, beginning with World Post Day, which commemorates the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874.
Addressing the media at the Srinagar General Post Office (GPO) Complex, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, Sagar Hanuman Singh, said the department had opened more than 17 lakh Post Office Savings Bank accounts in Jammu and Kashmir.
