Jammu, April 4 -- Minister for Education Sakeena Itoo on Saturday said the School Education Department is presently focusing on strengthening infrastructure and ensuring adequate teaching staff in already upgraded schools across Jammu and Kashmir.

Replying to a question by MLA Rafiq Ahmad Naik in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister said there is no proposal currently under consideration for further upgradation of schools to the next level.

She said the department is presently prioritising consolidation of infrastructure and provision of teaching faculty in schools that have already been upgraded.
