Srinagar, April 12 -- The government has directed the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to ensure implementation of State School Standards Authority (SSSA) by May 2026.

According to the news agency KNO, the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, in a review meeting, was informed that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has introduced several benchmarks to ensure quality in education across India.

One such key initiative is the establishment of the State School Standards Authority (SSSA) as an independent body.

The objective of the SSSA is to enable States and Union Territories to evaluate and ensure adherence to basic quality standards across all schools, irrespective of whether they are public or private.
