Srinagar, Feb. 10 -- The Principal District and Sessions Court, Ganderbal, on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 for sexually assaulting a minor six years ago.

Principal Sessions Judge Abdul Nasir had on February 5 convicted the accused, Rouf Ahmad Ganie, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Takiya Khulmulla, Ganderbal, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

FIR No. 01/2020 was registered against the accused at Police Station Lar under Sections 363, 376 and 506 IPC, along with Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act.
