SRINAGAR, Oct. 3 -- SKIMS Medical College Hospital, Bemina, has suspended five MBBS students and interns for one week and imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 each for their alleged involvement in a ragging incident on campus.

The action was taken on the recommendation of the institution's Anti-Ragging Committee. Those suspended include Shubham Verma and Sunil Verma of the 2023 batch, Shahdev of the 2024 batch, and interns Rupal Suntal and Lavish Sharma of the 2021 batch.

Besides the suspension, the college has directed them to deposit the fine within five days. Their parents or guardians have also been asked to appear before the Anti-Ragging Committee for further disciplinary proceedings. The stipends of the suspended interns will remain withhe...
