Srinagar, July 18 -- A 72-year-old shopkeeper who was critically injured after an electricity pole fell on him near the Central Jamia Masjid in Tangmarg earlier this week succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Peer Nooruddin, son of Peer Mohammad Maqbool, a resident of Oogmuna, Kunzer.
According to reports, the accident occurred on Wednesday, July 15, when a truck laden with timber, bearing registration number JK02E-4217, was travelling from Drang and allegedly struck an electricity pole near the mosque. The impact caused the pole to collapse onto Nooruddin, who was at his handicrafts shop at the time, leaving him critically injured.
