SRINAGAR, May 9 -- To mark World Red Cross Day 2026, the District Red Cross Committee Srinagar on Thursday organised a function at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nawa Kadal.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, who is also the Chairman of the District Red Cross Committee, attended the event as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the vital role played by Red Cross teams and volunteers in extending timely assistance to the needy during emergencies, disasters and other humanitarian situations. He said the spirit of humanity, compassion and voluntary service reflected by Red Cross volunteers serves as an inspiration for society.
