BARAMULLA, Dec. 21 -- Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa today kick-started the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) campaign by administering polio drops to a child at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Baramulla.

The district-wide IPPI campaign aims to ensure 100 percent immunisation coverage of 1,63,587 children in the 0-5 years age group out of a total district population of 11,33,790.

For the successful conduct of the campaign, 2,07,755 OPV doses and 10,388 OPV vials have been arranged. A total of 849 Pulse Polio booths have been established across the district to facilitate easy access for beneficiaries.
