Srinagar, July 9 -- Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the first household-level enumeration to identify multidimensionally poor families across Jammu and Kashmir as part of a proposed initiative to improve targeting of welfare schemes.

Chairing a meeting of the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department (PD&MD), Dulloo said the proposed exercise aims to create a scientifically validated, technology-enabled database to help ensure that government benefits reach the most deserving households, according to an official statement.
