Srinagar, May 12 -- A CRPF personnel was killed after being hit by a motorcycle during naka checking near Lasjan on the Srinagar bypass on Monday, officials said.

According to officials, the accident occurred when a motorcyclist, reportedly a resident of Brein Nishat area of Srinagar, allegedly struck the CRPF personnel while he was performing naka duty.

The impact of the collision proved fatal and the CRPF personnel died on the spot, officials said.

Police and security personnel rushed to the scene soon after the incident and initiated legal proceedings.

Officials said further details regarding the condition of the motorcyclist and the circumstances surrounding the accident were being ascertained. (KNT)
