JAMMU, Oct. 8 -- The Crime Branch's Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Jammu, has filed a chargesheet against two siblings in an alleged visa fraud case involving promises of overseas employment in Australia.
According to officials, the chargesheet was filed before the court of the 13th Forest Magistrate, Jammu, against Poonam Sharma and Akash Sharma, both residents of Janipur, in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 registered under sections related to cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence, as well as provisions of the Emigration Act, 1983.
The case stems from a complaint lodged by Jaspal Singh of Digiana, Jammu, who alleged that he paid Rs.2.30 lakh through a cheque to secure an Australian work visa for his son.
