Jammu, March 31 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, wishing them happiness, peace and prosperity.

In his message, the chief minister said that Jammu and Kashmir has a rich legacy of celebrating festivals and sacred occasions in an atmosphere of unity and harmony.

He called upon the people to further strengthen this cherished tradition, adding that such occasions offer an opportunity to deepen mutual bonds of love, reinforce communal harmony and promote brotherhood across society.

Omar Abdullah prayed for sustained peace, prosperity and progress of Jammu and Kashmir and the nation.
