Srinagar, Sept. 16 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday inaugurated the Rotary Satellite Club-Kashmir Valley, a new Rotary platform aimed at promoting community service and social development in the Valley.

The club has been established under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Dahanu and Rotary International District 3141, which covers Mumbai and has more than 100 member clubs.

Addressing the function, Omar welcomed Rotary's expansion into Jammu and Kashmir and appreciated its contribution in areas such as healthcare, education, sanitation, environmental protection and community development.
