Srinagar, Nov. 22 -- In a major advancement for orthopaedic surgery in Jammu and Kashmir, the Hospital for Bone and Joint Surgery Barzulla has successfully introduced the Direct Anterior Hip Arthroplasty (DAA) - a minimally invasive, muscle-sparing total hip replacement technique that is rapidly transforming hip surgery worldwide.
This breakthrough, achieved under the expert guidance of Prof. Altaf Ahmad Kawoosa, Head, Department of Orthopaedics, Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar, and Prof. Imtiyaz Hussain Dar, marks the first time this state-of-the-art procedure has been performed in the region.
