Jammu, June 6 -- Authorities have accelerated infrastructure and maintenance works on National Highway-44 in Ramban and Udhampur districts to ensure smooth traffic movement during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 and the monsoon season.

In Ramban, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan reviewed the ongoing four-laning project from Nashri to Banihal. NHAI officials informed him that a key 3.5-km tunnel, two major viaducts and a 1.2-km stretch are nearing completion and are expected to be operational before the Yatra. Khan directed NHAI to clear debris, complete blacktopping, install crash barriers and finish all pending works on priority.
