As rains lash, strong winds damage houses, shops in parts of Kashmir; MeT forecasts wet spell till June 22
Srinagar, June 17 -- Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed gusty winds, rain and thundershowers on Tuesday afternoon as the Meteorological Centre Srinagar had issued a forecast warning for brief intense showers, thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms and gusty winds across multiple districts.
Gusty winds swept Srinagar and some parts of Kashmir on Tuesday, causing damage to a few structures, as rains lashed many parts of the valley, officials said.
Rainfall activity was also reported from Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts in south Kashmir, while parts of Ganderbal, including the Sonamarg-Baltal-Holy Cave axis, and the Pahalgam-Holy Cave route received showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.
