Amid no-confidence move, Kargil CEC appoints two executive councillors
SRINAGAR, July 16 -- Amid a no-confidence motion against him, Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr Jaffar Ali Akhoon on Thursday nominated two new executive councillors.
According to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Altaf Hussain of the National Conference and Independent councillor Syed Ali were appointed as executive councillors.
The appointments come as 16 councillors have moved a no-confidence resolution against Akhoon after he allegedly declined to step down on completion of his two-and-a-half-year tenure.
