Srinagar, May 14 -- Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday said that Apni Party stands for the social, economic, educational and political empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir.
He made the remarks while addressing a joining programme at the party headquarters in Srinagar, where social and political activist Sabiya Bhat along with her associates joined the party.
Sabiya Bhat previously served as Provincial General Secretary, Member State Committee and In-charge of Kupwara constituency in the Samajwadi Party. The new entrants belong to Batirgam area of Kupwara district.
Welcoming the new members, Altaf Bukhari said it was encouraging to see women in Jammu and Kashmir taking active interest in leadership roles and public issues.
