Srinagar, Aug. 21 -- Srinagar: After 28 years, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau Wednesday said that Additional Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court Srinagar, Faizan-ul-Haq Iqbal, convicted Habibul Hassan Beigh, retired IAS officer and former member of the J&K Special Tribunal, and sentenced him to one-year imprisonment and 15 lakh fine in a long-pending disproportionate assets case.
In a statement issued here today, the ACB said that Beigh, son of Gh. Hassan Beigh and resident of Chinar Colony, Barzulla Srinagar, was sentenced to one year of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.15 lakh in connection with FIR No. 22/1997 registered at Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK), now Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Srinagar.
