Jammu, April 22 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Baramulla, against Mubarak Ahmad Ganai, then Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), PWD (R&B) Division Sopore, in a bribery case involving alleged demand and acceptance of illegal gratification from a contractor.

According to the ACB, the case arose from a complaint lodged by a contractor, who alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe at the rate of two per cent for processing a pending bill amounting to Rs.28.27 lakh.

The bill pertained to the construction of a classroom lecture block at Government Degree College Sopore.
