A Generation Afraid of Being Ordinary
Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- There was a time when being ordinary was simply a part of life. A child could be good at studies without being the class topper, enjoy drawing without becoming an artist, or play a sport without ever winning a medal. Life was not always about standing out. It was about growing, learning and finding happiness in small things.
Today, however, many young people are growing up with a different idea of success. From an early age, they are encouraged to excel, compete and build impressive identities. Marks, medals, certificates, competitions, social media achievements and public recognition have gradually become visible measures of success. Somewhere along the way, being ordinary has begun to feel like falling behind.
