Srinagar, Sept. 20 -- Police on Friday said they have seized huge quantities of poppy straw in Anantnag and Sopore and arrested three persons in separate operations.
A police spokesperson said that in Anantnag, acting on specific input, a police team intercepted a vehicle (Tata Mobile JK21A-3990) at Donipora Bijbehara. During search, 136.3 Kgs (approximately) of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from the said vehicle, following which two persons - Sunil Kumar, son of Dharam Pal of Gandhi Camp, Jalandhar, Punjab; and Boby, son of Balbir Das of Tilak Nagar, Jalandhar, Punjab - travelling in it have been arrested. The vehicle was also seized.
