SRINAGAR, Aug. 8 -- The Union Government on Friday informed the Lok Sabha that 12 Day Care Cancer Centres (DCCCs) are currently functional in Jammu and Kashmir as part of efforts to strengthen cancer care at the district level.

The information was provided by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda in response to a starred question on the status of Day Care Cancer Centres across the country.

According to the Ministry, 524 DCCCs are operational nationwide, while 313 additional centres have been sanctioned based on proposals submitted by States and Union Territories under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).
