On October 28, Defense Minister Koizumi and U.S. War Secretary Hegseth along with PM Takaichi and President Trump visited the USS George Washington at Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. The leaders delivered remarks to U.S. and Japanese service members, emphasizing strength of the Japan-U.S. Alliance. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the U. S. Navy and this event served as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the robust Alliance in safeguarding peace and stability across the Indo-Pacific region.
