TOKYO, May 11 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:
On May 11 (May 10 local time), one Japanese national who disembarked at the Canary Islands, Spain, from m/v Hondius, where Hantavirus cases had been identified, arrived in the United Kingdom after being provided with a spare seat on a charter flight arranged by the UK Government.
The individual will undergo health monitoring by local health authorities for up to 45 days in the United Kingdom, based on WHO recommendations. As we understand, the individual is in good health.
