TOKYO, May 21 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:
On May 21, commencing at 1:00 p.m., for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by ABUBAKR Raffa, Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defense of f Libya.
At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI mentioned that Japan recognizes Libya as an important partner, being an energy supplier holding Africa's largest proven crude oil reserves. He expressed his hope that this visit to Japan will serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Libya across a wide range of fields.
