Lesotho, Sept. 17 -- In November 2024, a group of 10 determined Basotho from Taung, Ha-Moletsane, came together to start something small yet powerful, a community initiative that combines good nutrition with economic empowerment.
They called it the Mabine Nutrition Club, and in less than a year, it has already begun to change lives.
The club, made up of eight women and two men, was born out of a simple but urgent vision, to fight poverty, and unemployment while improving household nutrition.
Members believe that by preserving vegetables and turning them into products such as vegetable achaar, they can provide families with affordable, healthy food while also creating a source of income for themselves.
