Lesotho, Oct. 1 -- Lesotho's senior national football team, Likuena, has suffered a major blow in the latest FIFA World Rankings, dropping five places from 148th to 153rd out of 210 member associations.

The disappointing slide comes after back-to-back defeats against regional rivals South Africa and West African opponents Benin earlier this month.

Within the CAF continental ranking Likuena now sits 45th out of 54 African nations recognised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This drop highlights the urgent need for the national team to bounce back ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and regional competitions.
