The Government of India in Union Budget 2026-27 has announced the development of fisheries and aquaculture by undertaking integrated development of 500 reservoirs and Amrit Sarovars in the country including the Konkan region of Maharashtra. As reported by Government of Maharashtra, 34 reservoirs including the Konkan region has been selected in the state for integrated development.
