India, April 7 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal during a press conference in New Delhi said that today marks a historic moment in the lives of residents of Delhi. He added that Government of India had enacted the PM-UDAY scheme in 2019 to confer ownership rights to Delhi residents and stated that with the current decision to regularise colonies on an "as is where is" basis, residents will be encouraged to come forward for registration of their properties.
This, he added, will not only provide legal ownership but also enable citizens to undertake construction or redevelopment of their homes in accordance with MCD norms.
