Government has been monitoring and recording the occurrence of various extreme weather events such as extreme rainfall, heat waves, cyclones, etc. across the country. There have been several studies that examined observed changes in extreme weather and climate events. Recently, the Ministry of Earth Sciences has also brought out a detailed assessment report covering various aspects of rainfall and temperature using longer period observed data as well as future simulations of these events and published in a book entitled "Assessment of Climate Change over the Indian Region" (https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-15-4327-2).
