The Union Cabinet in its meeting held on 18-09-2024 approved continuation of DBT schemes namely, 'Biotechnology Research & Development', 'Industrial & Entrepreneurship Development' and a new component of 'Biomanufacturing & Biofoundry' as one scheme "Biotechnology Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (Bio-RIDE)". Bio-RIDE scheme has been designed to foster innovation, promote bio-entrepreneurship, and strengthen India's position as a global leader in biomanufacturing and biotechnology.
