India, Aug. 25 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur celebrated the completion of 10 years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

In a post on 'X' the Union Minister of State said that there was a time when carrying cash was a must, while today, phone has become the wallet. She said that from chai stalls to college canteens, and from villages to big businesses, UPI has made payments remarkably simple - a few taps, a few seconds and zero hassle.

She said that this ease and speed of digital payments reflects the India that is being built today.
