JABALPUR, India, Feb. 12 -- Madhya Pradesh High Court issued the following judgment/order on Jan. 12:
Petitioner a registered association of farmers has filed the subject public interest litigation seeking a direction to the respondents to make payment of the food grain purchased from the farmers within a stipulated period.
Learned Deputy Advocate General appearing for the State submits that a public interest litigation for recovery of the sale price of food grain on behalf of a association would not be maintainable and each of the farmers would have to raise his claim in accordance with law before the competent authority.
