RANCHI, India, May 1 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 30:
1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.
2. This purported public interest litigation seeks the dismissal of the 5th respondent, a Panchayat Secretary, Block Raneshwar, District-Dumka.
3. We are extremely doubtful whether a public interest litigation would lie to seek such reliefs. In any event, the learned counsel for the petitioner now says that the 5th respondent has since expired.
4. Accordingly, even if we were to assume that some public interest litigation would lie in such a matter, we are now satisfied that this relief has been rendered infructuous.
5. On this ground, we dispose of this public interest litigation without any order for cost...
