Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'A Process For The Production Of Biochar Immobilized Urea' Filed by Indian Institute Of Technology

MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511121387 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'a process for the production of biochar immobilized urea.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Basheshwer Prasad; and Mr. Rishabh Didel.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a process for producing a slow-release fertilizer known as biochar immobilized urea (BIU).
