India, Oct. 5 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
On 30th September, 2026, Ambassador of Japan to India, H.E. Mr. Keiichi Ono and the then Secretary (MoEFCC), Shri Tanmay Kumar, jointly launched the Operational Manual for the India-Japan Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), in New Delhi.
The Joint Crediting Mechanism between India and Japan aims to promote the deployment of advanced low-carbon technologies, mobilize climate finance, facilitate technology cooperation and support high-integrity emission reductions and removals in India. The mechanism will contribute to sustainable development in India while strengthening confidence and transparency in international carbon markets.
