The Government e Marketplace (GeM) will complete ten years of operations on 9 August 2026. Marking a decade of transforming public procurement through technology, transparency, efficiency and good governance, the platform has facilitated a cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of over Rs.20 lakh crore through more than 3.78 crore orders, underscoring its growing role in India's public procurement ecosystem.

The platform's annual GMV has grown from Rs.422 crore in FY 2016-17 to over Rs.5 lakh crore in each of FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26. In the first four months of FY 2026-27 alone, GeM recorded a GMV of Rs.1,47,888 crore. While the platform took more than eight years to achie...
