GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON SALEMA KHATUN V/S THE STATE OF ASSAM

GUWAHATI, India, Nov. 25 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Oct. 27:

1. Heard Mr. S. Bora, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. P. Borthakur, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

2. This petition under Section 482 BNSS is filed by the petitioner, namely, Smti. Salema Khatun, apprehending arrest in connection with Juria P.S. Case No. 179/202 under Section 318(2)/336(3)/340(2) of BNS, 2023.

3. The allegation in the FIR dated 27.06.2025 is that the petitioner submitted forged educational qualification.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pursuant to the order dated 28.07.2025, the petitioner appeared before the investigating officer and recorded her statement.
