GAUHATI HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON KIRTAN MAHTO AND ANR. V/S THE STATE OF JHARKHAND

Instant Criminal Appeal is directed against the judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 17.01.2004 and 21.01.2004 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court No. 4, Hazaribag in Sessions Trial No. 40 of 1997, whereby and whereunder the appellants have been held guilty for the offences under Sections 302/34 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code and were sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life for the offence under Section 302 of the I.P.C. and a fine of Rs. 2000/- each with default of stipulation and R.I. for five years for the offence under Section 201 of the I.P.C. alongwith fine of Rs. 1000 each with default stipul...
