Road infrastructure plays a vital role in connecting agricultural regions, industrial centres and border areas with wider markets. In Bihar, the Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa section of National Highway-22 (NH-22) serves as an important link between a major economic centre and the India-Nepal border. Its upgradation to four lanes will enhance the capacity of this corridor and strengthen regional connectivity.
