Eminent oceanographer and distinguished scientist Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala officially assumed charge as the Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India. He takes over from Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, who had been handling the responsibilities of MoES under an additional charge. The position was previously held on a full-time basis by Dr. M. Ravichandran.
