The report details how their nightly vertical migration drives the ocean's "biological carbon pump," transferring carbon from the surface to the deep sea to regulate global climate.
Deep-Sea Demersal Resources: The report provides a meticulous assessment of living resources inhabiting the continental slope beyond 200 meters, identifying substantial, currently underexploited stocks of deep-sea shrimps, perches, scombroids, flatfishes, and eels.
