India, Aug. 5 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
The Central Government is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Strengthening of Machinery for Enforcement of the Protection of Civil Rights (PCR) Act, 1955 and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. Under the Scheme, Central Assistance is released to States and Union Territories, including Uttar Pradesh, for the effective implementation of the Acts and for providing relief to victims of atrocities.
