India, Aug. 10 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme was launched on 1st June, 2020 with the objective of facilitating collateral free working capital term loans to urban street vendors. Since scheme inception till 12th July 2026, 76.95 lakh street vendors have availed more than 1.15 crore collateral-free loans amounting to Rs.18,475 crore.
The scheme has achieved significant milestones in providing institutional credit to urban street vendors and promoting their financial inclusion. The impact of the Scheme has been assessed through studies conducted by the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in 2023 and 2025.
