India, June 20 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
The Prime Minister has released over Rs.18,880 crore as the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The announcement for the release of funds was made on June 20, 2026, in Hooghly, West Bengal. Over 9.44 crore farmers have received financial assistance under this instalment. 2.18 crore of these are women farmers. More than 1 crore farmers attended this event virtually. Over Rs.4.46 lakh crore has been disbursed since the scheme's launch in 2019. This makes PM-KISAN one of the world's largest DBT initiatives. This day was also celebrated as the "PM KISAN Utsav Diwas".
