India, July 27 -- The word democracy originates from the Greek word d?mokratia, which combines d?mos (meaning "the people" or "the populace") and kratos (meaning "power" or "rule"). Together, they literally mean "rule by the people" or "power of the people."
The youth of India demonstrated on July 20 that, in a democratic country like India, power resides with the people and not with the government.
